Linda MacLeod has been a clinical nurse in mental health, critical care and step-down units in 3 different provinces. Her work in hospital administration has been primarily in Ottawa and Collingwood, but also Cape Breton.
Her interest in palliative care began when she was a critical care nurse, and since then she has been involved in hospital committees aimed at improving palliative care resources in hospital and our community. For the past 8 years she has been active on the Board of Hospice Georgian Triangle as it grew from a 2 person plus volunteers organization to one which incorporates 10 residential beds and several community based programs for those affected by a life-limiting diagnosis.
She says that the opportunity to work with the Living Wish Foundation meets her need to be actively involved with palliative patients and to offer what she can to such a beneficial organization.
